If success comes from within, how quickly can you become successful?

Success is something a lot of people are striving for, hoping to reach, on a journey to get there. I understand that many look at success and feel they are just not successful.  They never know if they are going to be successful and sometimes take a view that they are just never going to be a success.

Consider the following:

  • What is success?
  • What does success look like to you?
  • What does success look like to others?
  • Has your view on success changed?

Now, being successful isn’t just about changing your view on what being successful looks like or is it?

Suppose you looked at what would be considered shorter term success towards your longer-term vision.

My suggestion would be to ask you to give some thought to the following questions around #Enjoy #Learn #Perform:

  • Do you enjoy what you are doing? Would you consider it successful if you enjoyed what you did?
  • How often do you learn? Would you consider it successful if you learned more things regularly?
  • Is performance purely about winning? What if your performance improved competing against better opposition? Would you consider that you could improve and be successful in defeat?

Is it possible to become more successful in an instant? For some, sure. For others, it may take a bit more time depending on what they are attached to, and for others they may always see success as something they are working towards.

In relation to being successful you may find it useful looking at your enjoyment, your learning plus your own short-term performance, which may improve even in defeat as short-term learning leads to a bigger vision. For example:

  • Would you rather win a race or come 2nd in a quicker time?
  • Would you rather win against a pub team or lose to Barcelona?

Options

You could look at success as follows:

  • Purely something you are working towards, and you will only be successful when you achieve a set outcome through time
  • Something you are being right now by practicing #Enjoy #Learn #Perform or just being successful through your thinking and actions in the present

When you choose your preference, you can ask yourself that question again, how quickly can you become successful?
